Effective 30 March, 2021 the Government of India has opened e-visas for the following categories:

a) eMedical Visa;
b) eBusiness Visa;
c) eConference Visa; and
d) eMedical Attendant Visa;

However, it may be noted that previous valid e-visas for the above categories, as well as for other categories, including eTourist Visa, will continue to remain suspended. 

Applicants with e-visa for the above categories, which have been obtained on or after 30 March, 2021 will be allowed entry into India. The applicants are also advised that the Embassy does not process the e-visas and any enquiries in this regard will need to be made directly on the e-visa portal.

Tourist Visa Requirements

1. India visa application – must be completed online
The application must contain your information exactly as it appears in your passport. This is to include Jr, Sr, III…, if items do not pertain to you place N/A in the space provided.
2. Current valid passport with 6 months validity remaining and two blank visa pages.
3. One Current passport photo - must be in color and 2 x 2 on a white background.

Business Visa Requirements

1. India visa application – must be completed online
The application must contain your information exactly as it appears in your passport. This is to include Jr, Sr, III…, if items do not pertain to you place N/A in the space provided.

7. Certificate of Incorporation from inviter in India.8. U.S. Business letter from employer must be on company letterhead, signed and dated.   ** If hold Indian citizenship and you have not Renunciated, you must do so  - this can be done at the same time as the visa request.

Application for Minors

Must contain all items listed above for tourist, plus the following:
1. If applicant is below the age of 5 his/ her thumb print must appear in the signature box below the photograph on the first page of the application. If applicant is able to print or sign his/ her name they must do so. Application cannot be signed by a parent on the first page of the application.
2. Application must be signed and notarized by both parents on page 2.
3. Notarized copy of both parent’s drivers license.
4. Copies of the information page of both parent’s passports must be provided or a notarized letter stating that they do not hold a passport.
5. Notarized copy or the original birth certificate of the minor.
